If you want to be a few steps from a pristine white sand beach during your holiday, this all-inclusive family resort is exactly what you’re looking for, located right in front of Bayahibe pristine beach and offering luxury rooms with views on crystal clear ocean waters!
But this 4 stars family-friendly resort has much more to offer, from a supervised kids club and a children’s playground where you can leave your children having some fun and you can spend some adult time by yourself to a water park, a games room and even an exclusive golf course in the property’s surroundings!
3. Majestic Mirage Punta Cana – the most elegant property
If you want to splurge during your family holiday, check out this elegant, all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, offering access to first-class facilities like a private beach area and many activities for the whole family!
Here you can do something different every day: try one of the many watersports onsite (like snorkeling, scuba diving, canoeing or windsurfing), play at the tennis court or at the golf course right next to the resort, or keep yourself in shape at the fitness center.
And for the younger ones, the property offers kids pools, fine dining restaurants serving kids meals, a kids club, and outdoor play equipment.

If you’re an active type of family, this all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana is definitely for you, offering so many activities that you will be busy from early in the morning up to late at night.
In fact, here you will have access to 3 pools (one of which is a designated children’s pool), a teen club, tennis courts, a basketball court, billiards, and mini golf, as well as some cool water sports on site like snorkeling, kayaking, sailing fishing, and scuba diving. They even offer scuba diving lessons if it’s your first experience. And when the sun goes down, you will keep having fun with theme nights, beach parties, live performances, and shows!
5. Dreams Dominicus La Romana – the best private beach
Located in Bayahibe, this all-inclusive resort is perfect if you want to have direct access to a stunning private beach (Dominicus Beach), located just a few steps from your exclusive room!
If you are just looking for relaxation, here you can chill at the year-round outdoor pool, enjoy a drink at the swim-up bar, or have a massage at the spa and wellness center.
If you want to engage in as many activities as possible, the resort offers as many options: a children’s playground for the younger ones, mini golf for some family fun, water sports facilities for snorkeling, diving, and canoeing, and a tennis court… This place meets anyone’s taste!
6. Barceló Bávaro Palace – top family-friendly facilities
Located in Bavaro beach, this all-inclusive resort is definitely my top pick for family holidays in the Dominican Republic, featuring so many family-friendly facilities like a mini-club and kids zone for younger kids, a Xone nightclub for teenagers, a children’s pool and babysitting services.
But the property also offers countless options to have fun with the whole family and make great memories, like 2 themed waterparks, 4 swimming pools (among which some family pools), motorized and non-motorized water sports, an escape room, a professional football pitch, and even a beauty salon for some girls time!
NOTE: This resort is a little lower rated than what I usually recommend, but I included it in this travel guide because it is still an amazing option for families!
7. Lopesan Costa Resort – for a relaxing vacation
Set in Punta Cana, this all-inclusive resort is for those who just want to spend some relaxing time during their family holiday in the Dominican Republic! Here you will wake up with a delicious buffet, continental or American breakfast, spend your day chilling at the private beach, and end it with a relaxing massage or treatment at the on-site spa and wellness center.
But what about your super-active kids? No worries! The property offers a children’s playground, a kids club, a children’s pool with water slides, as well as many cool facilities like billiards, a bowling alley, and water sports… so they definitely won’t get bored!
8. Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa – for the best ocean views
Do you want to wake up with breathtaking views of the ocean directly from your bed? Then check out this stunning all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, located right on its private beach! Here the spacious rooms come with incredible water views and there are also some swim-up suites with their own private pool, but they are for small families, hosting up to 3 people.

Located in La Romana, the property is known in the Dominican Republic for its 3 Pete Dye golf courses, including the top-ranking “Teeth of the Dog” golf course and a mini golf course. Some rooms even include a golf chart so you can get to the fields in total style! And if you’re a beginner, you can take golf lessons for an additional cost and practice your skills every day.
NOTE: Even if this is not a proper, all-inclusive resort, they offer a couple of all-inclusive options when you book, and you can add the Inclusive Experience supplement to your reservation, which gives you free access to all meals and drinks!
10. Grand Bavaro Princess – closest location to the airport
Are you the type of person who’s always stressing about missing the flight? Then this resort is for you, located on the dreamy Bavaro beach at only 30-minutes drive from the Punta Cana International Airport.
But apart from a very convenient location, this property offers indoor and outdoor activities and family-friendly entertainment all day long: tennis, archery, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, water sports, golf, yoga, pilates… you definitely won’t get bored here! And if you want to enjoy some adult-only time, you can chill at the adult’s pool with a swim-up bar, while your kids splash at designated children’s pools.

11. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana – top eco-friendly resort
This Punta Cana resort adheres to a sustainable program in the Dominican Republic, so it is super eco-friendly and offers at the same time an incredible location on a private beach and family-friendly amenities for any taste. Some examples?
Here you will have access to 18 holes of golf, a spa offering massages, aromatherapy, and body treatments, a health club offering aerobics classes and yoga classes, beach volleyball, and water sports like kayaking and surfing/bodyboarding. Moreover, the property hosts 6 onsite restaurants, among which a beachfront restaurant and bar, so you can enjoy a delicious meal or drink with a fresh sea breeze!
12. Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort – the best rooms
This Punta Cana resort has the greatest choice of accommodation, offering rooms for literally anyone: deluxe rooms with direct access to a beautiful pool, king suites with ocean views, spacious rooms with a spa bath and private balcony and many more… all perfect for a stay with the family, hosting up to 5 people.
But make sure you don’t spend your whole time in the room. The resort has so many facilities to offer you: a hot tub and outdoor swimming pool, a children’s playground, a private beach area, a tranquil garden, a spa, and wellness center, a beach bar and many more… check out the pictures, you will fall in love!
13. Princess Family Club Bavaro – best value for the money
Located within walking distance from the beautiful Bavaro Beach, this resort offers everything you need for a holiday full of comforts and at reasonable prices compared to the ones of other all-inclusive resorts.
Here you will wake up in your swim-out room and decide if to dive immediately into the pool or go first for a delicious buffet breakfast and spend the rest of your day chilling at the beach or engaging in cool water sports while your kids enjoy the children’s playground and the family pool with water slides. And when the sun goes down, the fun keeps going with some cool nightly entertainment… What else could you ask for?
NOTE: this resort is a little lower rated than what I usually recommend, but it still makes a very good option for families who don’t want to spend too much money!
14. Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus – the most fun
Located on the southern shore of the island, close to the stunning Bayahibe Beach, this all-inclusive resort is really targeted for families, offering a kids-only zero-entry pool, a large pool for scuba diving lessons (available for kids aged 12 and up), and a “Star Camp” kids program for kids from 4 years old.
During the program, kids can play games, enjoy themed play areas, listen to live music, and have fun with arts and crafts projects – so they will be busy the whole day! In the meantime, you can get relaxing massages at the on-site spa or just chill at the beach, located right in front of the property.
15. Bahia Principe Fantasia – the most unique property

The resort offers something for the whole family: a kids club and pool with swimming pool toys, a tennis court, free bikes to explore the area, shopping options, many outdoor activities (both on-site and in the close surroundings) like windsurfing, hiking and snorkeling, and a nightclub and evening entertainment for the more adult ones.
