1. Bani Park – where to stay in Jaipur for the first time
If this is your first time in Jaipur then Bani Park is the place for you!
Did you know that Jaipur is part of something called the Golden Triangle, along with New Delhi and Agra. These cities actually form a triangle on the map and it’s named “golden” because of all the iconic cultural and historical sites that they offer.
Offering a more modern and tranquil setting, this neighborhood is set in the central area offering easy access to the Old City and also to the other main neighborhoods.
You’ll find everything you need here from fun attractions, amazing restaurants where you can indulge in the mouth-watering Rajasthani cuisine and a wide range of hotels.
PRO TIP: I’d recommend taking extra care when it comes to food (especially street food) and water in India, as you can easily stumble across something that will cause an unfortunate food poisoning. Only drink bottled water (even at the hotel) and pick restaurants that have really amazing reviews. Also be cautious with ice, rather avoid it unless you know where the water came from.
If you’re looking for a spot to eat in the area, Rajasthani Thali Dal Bati Churma (map) is a great one, where you can try authentic Indian dishes.
As for attractions, you should definitely visit the Regional Science Centre And Science Park museum, the Collectorate Circle Park (map) and the Shri Ram Mandir temple (map).

2. Old City – best place to stay in Jaipur for culture
Want to dive deep into the culture of the city? Then there’s no better place to stay in Jaipur than the Old City, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Jaipur is actually known as the Pink City, thanks to its terracotta coloured buildings.
This neighborhood, which is located a 20 min drive away from Bani Park is home to some of the most popular attractions in town like the The City Palace that was built back in the 18th century, the Hawa Mahal castle and the Thikana Mandir Sri Govinddevji (map).
PRO TIP: If you are planning to visit temples or any religious sites, I’d recommend dressing modestly and also wear breathable clothes as it gets so hot during the day! It’s even better to try to visit attractions either super early or later when it’s not as hot.
But it’s not only the attractions that make the Old City an unmissable place to stay or just visit. The neighborhood has lots of narrow streets that you can explore all day long and immerse yourself in the ancient Indian cultures, with all their myths and interesting characters.
Of course there are plenty of bazaars too, from where you can buy some cool souvenirs or just look around! Bapu Bazaar (map) is a great spot where you can start your shopping adventures in the Old City. It can get pretty busy here so be mindful of your belongings and don’t forget that you can always bargain the prices here, as usually they ask a higher price from tourists.
NOTE: If you are planning to stay in a place like the Old City, or any of the other central areas you should know that there will be (as in most of the major cities in India) a lot of noise as well as pollution. So if you’re trying to avoid that as much as possible, maybe you could stay in one of the areas that are not in the center.
Set just a short walk away from Hawa Mahal, this amazing hotel offers a garden and an inner courtyard. The rooms are spacious and you’ll also find a restaurant and a shared lounge area where you can chill.

3. C Scheme Area (MI Road) – where to stay in Jaipur for luxury
Looking for a fancy hotel in Jaipur? Then you might like staying in this area which is known for its upscale hotels and amazing attractions!
Located around a 30 min walk away from Bani Park, the C Scheme Area is home to one of the city’s main attractions like the Birla Mandir Temple (map) which looks absolutely incredible!
You can definitely walk to Bani Park (the city is generally safe, but definitely be mindful of your belongings), but at night I’d rather take a taxi than walking on the streets alone, or even if you’re with someone.
While here, you can also check out other cool spots like the Albert Hall Museum where you can dive deeper into Indian culture, and Central Park (map) which is the town’s largest park. The perfect place to go for a stroll (or take a break) when it’s too hot to roam around the city streets.
NOTE: As in any other big and touristy city, Jaipur has its fair share of scammers who take advantage of tourists. A regular scam around the temples is someone coming up and telling you that they’ll say a prayer for you and then asking for money. 4. Raja Park – where to stay in Jaipur for nightlife
Located a 20 min car drive away from Bani Park, Raja Park is an area that you might like if you want to explore the city’s nightlife!
NOTE: If you don’t want to use public transport to get around, and you’re thinking about renting a car I would personally recommend investing in getting a driver or just using taxis, tuk-tuks or Ubers. Driving in big cities in India is a bit chaotic to say the least! Not only is it very crowded but the local customs are so different as are the street rules. Parking is also a big issue, as it’s hard to find spots.
PRO TIP: Festivals in India are definitely something you need to see at least once! There are some in Jaipur too, including the Elephant Festival (usually held at the end of March) and the Kite Festival (celebrated on the 14th of December every year). So if you want to catch one of those, you can plan your trip around those times.
Raja Park is not a huge area and besides the restaurants and bars you won’t find any big attractions, which means that luckily you won’t come across any big crowds.
You can start your mornings visiting the attractions in the center and then once the sun sets you can come back here and hit the bars!
If you’re looking for some places to start the night, Karma Rooftop Lounge (map) is a pretty great one as is Piante Kitchen and Bar (map).
PRO TIP: Although there’s vibrant nightlife in this area, and throughout the main city areas, I’d recommend avoiding walking alone at night.

Set a 20 min drive away from Bani Park, this neighborhood is one of the coolest places in the area with plenty of fun things to do from shopping, to dining in amazing restaurants and chilling.
Since there are not many major attractions here, you won’t stumble across large crowds so this may be a great spot for those who don’t enjoy staying right in the center where all the tourists hang out.
If you want to do some shopping before heading home, then this is definitely a good spot, as you’ll find lots of shops like Tanishq Jewellery (perfect for those who love getting some unique pieces) and Zudio – Vaishali Nagar (map) where you can find all sorts of clothing items.
There is also a super unique place that you should visit while here, the Jharkhand Mahadev Temple (map), which looks incredible!
After all the shopping, walking around and exploring, you’ll probably be super hungry, so head to Dhaba Kulture restaurant (map) where you can eat something yummy!
