Stunning Sigiriya
One of Sri Lanka’s most iconic attractions, Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress near the center of the country. Although the sides of this rocky outcrop are quite sheer, countless tourists make the journey to climb its staircases. This is not an attraction for those afraid of heights.
Once you’ve reached the top of this mighty landmark, you’ll discover ruins there from an ancient civilization, not to mention captivating views across the landscape. But if you’re after a view of Sigiriya itself, head to the small mountain of Pidurangula nearby.
