Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.
We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

A great city for walking, clean and well designed, loved the library and small contemporary art gallery near Yaletown. Vancouver playhouse only steps away from our hotel. We also found a tasty ice cream shop.

Vancouver has one of the best city settings that I have seen...
Vancouver has one of the best city settings that I have seen in my life. The combination of water and mountains surrounding the city is unbeatable, every time you walk out of the hotel you can see some new angles and awesome views. The city itself is OK, I walked a fair bit around it, but I found it a bit confusing. Like shopping options - personally I have found them very limited and only after I reached Park Royal shopping centre in West Vancouver I found more varied options. Definitely the highlights for me in the city were: Granville Island, Rogers Arena (or seeing a live hockey game, to be precise), Seawall and Gastown had its charm too. If I would visit Vancouver again, I would definitely plan more activities around the town than inside it. Things that I definitely did not enjoy about it was tremendous amount of constant noise from all directions, amount of car traffic everywhere, loads of homeless people and very visible drug users all around city centre. If you have time during your Vancouver visit, go and drive to place like Squamish, it's only an hour away from the city but it's much calmer, quieter and greener. Also I could not recommend more booking a whale watching trip (mine was with Price of Whales), it's worth every penny. Overall, surroundings of the city made bigger impression on me than city itself, but definitely a place worth visiting at least once.

Walk the area, go up the observation tower, cycle Stanley Park (hiring is easy and cheap) visit Capilano Suspension Bridge, walk around the waterfront and Coal Harbour, get a lazy lunch at Joeys watching a game, go see the Canucks at Rogers Arena. All done in 2 full days but lots more to do no doubt

My granddaughter and I got to the hotel just as the restaurant was closing, the hotel staff let me know that McDonald's restaurant was within walking distance. Also the hotel held our luggage for the day so we could take the sky train and shop in downtown Vancouver. Once again the staff let us know how to get to the B.C. Ferries using public transportation. Travelling is tuff and expensive, so I like to have chooses. Thank you, Celia

Went to Vancouver for the first time to catch Health's show at the Commodore. It was a really awesome trip. Vancouver isn't the most alternative city, so if you're part of that scene, you've gotta do some extensive research to find stores and events, but those who are part of the alt scene are awesome folks, and love to connect. Stoked to go back!

Vancouver is good and bad just like any other big city and you just need to be smart about your choices. I used to live here and come quite frequently from Vancouver Island by ferry to go to concerts or other events ..There is always something happening and lots to do . Things are not inexpensive like accommodations , food , shopping etc... but you can do free stuff if you look for it.
We came to Vancouver from Vancouver Island for a concert. We walked on the Ferry and took the express bus into the City. This Hotel was extremely convenient. The bus stop is 3 blocks away; Frankies Restaurant is next door and the food and service were excellent. BC Place is across the street; Rogers arena is a 5 minute walk; Shopping on Robson Street is a 6 minute walk. The Staff were very friendly, checkin and checkout was quick and easy. Loved everything about the Hotel.
This is the perfect place for discovering the city of Vancouver - very central, Robson street has a vibrant culinary and night life setting, you can walk to all the central places in the city, plus Stanley park, the beaches and Canada place. The hotel staff was super welcoming and checked us in early, then stored our luggage until our flight time on the last day. Beds are comfortable, everything was clean, airco working well. Nothing to complain about really!
'I can't say enough about how fantastic this stay was at The Listel. I had a corner room with the fluffiest bed and beautiful views of the Telus tower and Vancouver skyline. The hotel offers free filtered water on every floor and a free happy hour at 5pm. The front desk staff and valet staff are so helpful and even brought my skip the dishes to my room when I didn't feel well. Oh and the best shopping and dining is right outside your door! Forage is SO GOOD!
Great super-central hotel I would classify as upper business. The interior is posh, luxurious. Breakfast is excellent, single choice in the regular (open to outside) in-house upscale restaurant. Last few times visiting Vancouver for a short stay have found that taking the tram into downtown is much more comfortable and convenient than finding an airport hotel/motel in Richmond. This was an excellent choice, and highly recommended.
Location is within a predominantly Asian area of Vancouver. This hotel is convenient for a one night stopover whilst on the way elsewhere. There is no lift at this hotel and no offer to help with luggage. Request a lower floor room if possible. Local to the hotel there are a good few bars and Asian restaurants and it's not far to the main attractions in the Downtown area. I cannot recommend it for longer stays.
We loved the location. 10 minute walk into centre of Downtown Vancouver.
We loved the comfortable beds.
The house-keeping team were very apologetic when we pointed 0out somethings that were below expected standards of a hotel.
The management team were quick in refunding us when we could not stay the full length of our trip - I really appreciated this and this is a sign of good customer service.
The bed was comfortable and provided a good night sleep. The views from the hotel room were breathtaking. Sutton Wine Merchant staff was very helpful enjoyed the wine recommendation. Sutton is a perfect downtown location. Happy Sutton Place was one of the stops on the Vancouver sightseeing tour.
Newly renovated hotel in mid city area.
We felt vary safe here unlike much of Vancouver.
Convenient walk from cruise terminal 10 min.
Lovely rooms and exceptional breakfast.
The best value accommodation we could find in Vancouver. Many people we know paid more and got less in worse locations.
The downtown Vancouver location was just what we wanted. It was within a few blocks of the Waterfront train station, so the ride from the airport was easy and convenient. The room had been recently updated, and although it was small, the bathroom was outstanding.
A classic downtown hotel with modern furnishings and amenities, the best part is the staff. From the doorman to the front desk to room service and housekeeping everyone is friendly, helpful and professional. 10/10 will stay there whenever I'm in Vancouver!
The location is perfect for you to explore downtown Vancouver. The rooms were clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. the breakfast was the best I’ve ever had while at a hotel.
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Vancouver. Easy walk to downtown shopping & dining, Skytrain, & the cruise ship port. Amazing room upgrade to a 2- bedroom suite with kitchenette. Beds were very comfortable.
Excellent hotel, clean and fully renovated, spacious rooms and in one of the best locations in Downtown Vancouver. The view from the Water View rooms is amazing! I will definitely stay at the hotel again.
The hotel was so close to Downtown Vancouver and not far to walk to the Waterfront.
The restaurant was ideal for a love,y quiet and delicious breakfast and our waiter was brilliantl
