It has great views, wonderful location, modern furnishings & fittings and comfortable beds. The property management is in constant communication with the client.The service was good and consistent. Great touches throughout the apartment and refillable water from the property in recycled glass bottles was an added bonus. Amazing views of the ocean and Rock Restaurant!

The View of Zanzibar is a distinctive studio building consisting of six rooms, situated directly on Pingwe Beach in Michamvi, Zanzibar. It has been constructed by skilled local craftsmen and women, adhering to high standards of design and craftsmanship. Under our own supervision. Drawing from our 25 years of hotel experience, we have created a space that provides a sense of home for couples and singles alike. Each room has been thoughtfully designed to cater to your needs. We have ensured an ample number of power outlets throughout the space, and the kitchen is handmade, complete with a refrigerator and cooking plate. For coffee lovers, we provide a coffee-making machine along with a selected quality coffee. Additionally, we offer tea and drinking water, and you'll find a water cooker and toaster as well. In the bedroom, you'll discover a wardrobe, a small hotel safe, and a comfortable queen-size bed with a high-quality mattress. We understand the importance of a good night's sleep, as it has been a personal concern during our own travels. Therefore, we have taken great care to ensure that you can rest well without any issues. At the rear of The View, there is a delightful bar and terrace area. In front we have the perfect spot to enjoy the breathtaking sunrise, have your meals—be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner—embark on a tour, take a refreshing swim in the ocean, or simply relax and even get some work done if needed. Whether you plan to stay for a day, a week, a month, or even make it your permanent residence, The View of Zanzibar welcomes you with open arms.
For the majority of our guests, their holiday begins at the airport. Our attentive drivers will be there to ensure a seamless journey to our idyllic beach paradise location. Our dedicated team of housekeepers, waiters, and cooks will be at your service, ensuring that everything is perfect during your stay. Yudee and Joop, the owners of the hotel, personally manage the operations and reside in the Penthouse. They take care of organizing tours, Dhow boat sailing trips, as well as snorkeling and diving experiences for our guests. You may be wondering how we ended up in Zanzibar, of all places. It all started when I met my wife, Yudee, during my work in Nigeria, which eventually became our permanent base. In 2021, we initially planned to go on holiday to Kenya, but due to heavy rainfall, we opted for Zanzibar instead. At that time, I had just finished a significant logistical project for a Nigerian company, with the intention of returning there after our vacation. However, the project got postponed, and we faced a choice of going back or staying in Zanzibar. We decided to stay. During our extended holiday at the beach hotel next door on Pingwe Beach, I found great success in conducting business. What was initially planned as a two-week break turned into eight weeks. Eventually, we were able to complete our project, but my wife and I had already completely fallen in love with this part of the island. Additionally, we were searching for a permanent base on the eastern part of Africa, which led us to Zanzibar. The view of Zanzibar alone sounded promising. We were fortunate to acquire a piece of land in a prime location on Pingwe Beach. This beach is renowned for its unique and ever-changing beauty. The white powdery sand and the turquoise ocean, combined with the ebb and flow of tides, provide a constantly shifting landscape. From our hotel, we overlook the most photographed spot in Zanzibar, The Rock Restaurant in Michamvi, and the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean.
The location on Pingwe Beach offers a delightful setting with charming bars and restaurants. It's perfect for leisurely walks along the 1.5 km stretch of white sandy shoreline or invigorating morning runs. Around 5:00 am, the first fishermen venture out into the ocean, creating a picturesque scene. They return to the beach at 11:00 am, sometimes with a catch of tuna, squid, or barracuda. We purchase their fresh catch directly from them and prepare a delicious lunch or dinner. Situated across from the Rock Restaurant, you can enjoy the sight of tourists coming and going on boats during the afternoon. In the evening, there's a chance to witness a soccer game between the Maasai and the village. By 6:30-7:00 pm, darkness falls, and Pingwe Beach becomes wonderfully serene, which is one of the reasons we fell in love with it. You can safely explore the village, visit the supermarket, or purchase fresh fruits from the local vendors. Additionally, we organise various day trips, safaris, tours, snorkeling, diving, sailing, and more, ensuring your stay is truly unforgettable.
