We traveled to Fort Lauderdale to attend a wedding so we were only there for a long weekend at the beginning of March. Though we arrived in the rain, the following days were sunny, comfortable and windy. The beach looked inviting but the surf was rough. If you plan on visiting during the Spring, make sure that you select accommodations away from the Spring Break crowd.

Fort Lauderdale has some great quirks and amenities!
Fort Lauderdale has some great quirks and amenities! Las Olas and the water taxis are great fun and affordable to see the Millionaire Mansions that face the water! I also recommend the Jungle Cruise, you see those mansions and also visit a private island for a family style dinner, show and exotic animals in enclosures!

Seems like a nice place.
Seems like a nice place. Just the perfect level of activity, as far as I'm concerned (I'm an 'older' guy). Beautiful beach and interesting restaurants along the beachfront. Lots of students but their behaviour was, for the most part, quite good.
Taxi service was so-so, but we were pleased with our Uber rides. I was surprised by the number of drivers we had who could not speak English. That didn't impact their ability to get us to our destinations but it made minor chit-chat impossible.

We visited the Morikami Japanese Garden and Museum in Delray Beach but booked The Ritz at Bal Harbor the next day. So, we chose the Westin at Ft. Lauderdale as a stopover point for the night. The hotel, its rooms, and the service did not disappoint us.

Spring brake and construction next to the hotel for 7 days...
Spring brake and construction next to the hotel for 7 days was a bit much.
Restaurants are within walking distance which was good. Pretty steep prices for everything from breakfast to dinner.
The bill was incorrect at the hotel as well. He tried to charge us parking spot fee we didn’t need. Wrote down one dollar amount and added additional 60$ on the credit card. Unfortunately I signed without wearing my readers and noticed once back home.

Staff unaccomodating. Very basic (yet pricey) rooms.
Staff unaccomodating. Very basic (yet pricey) rooms. Not one positive comment about this place. All railings and walkways were dirty. I’m not a germiphobe and I was disturbed. My wife wouldn’t sleep under the sheets!

Excellent location, comfortable bed, hot shower and excellent service - these are what's important to me and this hotel ticked every box. I had a very relaxing stay here. Its 5 minutes' walk to the beach and about the same to the restaurant area.
The kitchen area of my room was fully equipped and I was able to cook meals sometimes.
Denise and Valentina on reception went out of their way to make sure my stay was perfect.
I booked Horizon based on customer reviews. I'm glad I did. I would happy return.
Our stay at this hotel was more than we could've asked for! I had the best time with my friends, the staff was great, and it was super close to beach access. We didn't spend a lot of time in the actual room and pool area, but when we did we had to complaints at all! I also love all the plants around the hotel! I think that it really set the mood for being at the beach but not on the beach! Overall, 12/10 experience for my Spring Break in Ft Lauderdale! :)
The location is really nice, 15 mins to walk on the beach
The reception guys are really nice, all of them, very kind
A lot if parking lots available
The best one was the Block C room with a balcony (we had here 3 different rooms)
The worst was the 1st floor room in the Block B (too wet there and everybody is walking near your door, too loud)
The convenience of being so close to the airport was the first attraction i booked this property for my 2 days business stay in Fort Lauderdale. Our Gallery Host "Rose" was charming person. The hotel has big clean rooms, staff is friendly, situated at convenient location, comes with breakfast buffet. It's good value for money. Two thumbs up.
Pulled up and it was a nice, quaint area. Walked in and it was super clean and cozy. The snacks were a nice touch. The owner was very friendly and prompt with every inquiry and request made. I travel to Florida often, but, Fort Lauderdale is one of my favorites and now I found the perfect spot to stay! Will definitely be back!
The front desk staff were very accommodating throughout our stay. We enjoyed access to multiple heated pools and hot tubs which were great for winter months in south Florida. The location was convenient to the beach and restaurants, shops, etc. It was also a short drive back to Fort Lauderdale airport.
Close to the beach. Staff was super helpful. Close to food and close to the middle of everything but quiet when we went to sleep. It is a cute little boutique hotel with character. It was also close to where the cruise ships leave Fort Lauderdale.
The lady is the office was fantastic. She let us check in 2 hrs early when we arrived from the airport. She also did our laundry for us...wonderful.
We loved the close proximity to the beach but far enough away from the busy area. It was very quiet.
Location was great, near the beach and backing onto the waterways. Very intimate boutique hotel,
Very comfy bed with lovely linen. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely pool area and an area to dine near the waterway if you are inclined.
The property is very close to the cruise terminal which is why we stayed. It is in a quieter area of Fort Lauderdale which we really enjoyed. the beach was great and the pool was awesome! All the employees were so pleasant and welcoming.
It has a good location for Fort Lauderdale airport. It has a good breakfast, you will not remain hungry. We got a room on the fifth for the first night. There is also a pool area and parking. We did not have any issue with noise.
It was close to the ocean. The property was a collection of refurbished hotels with many different pools, lots of palm trees and vegetation. It was like a little oasis in the middle of the madness of Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Staff is great. They worked hard to accommodate us and our crazy schedule. We will diffinately try to stay there on future trips. The hotel is very convenient for cruise travelers and is close to Fort Lauderdale Airport
Location was fine - back from the beach so a little quieter, and a smaller more intimate hotel with a small pool and much less people than the giant hotels on the beach front. Easy walk to the beach from here.
Grand hotel on the beach and far enough away from the crowds to be pleasant. Easy access to FLL and the Port of Miami. Nice beach and decent pool. Friendly staff. Huge rooms and decent facilities.
Very nice location just a few blocks from Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard. The Village Cafe is very close to the hotel and serves delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a very reasonable price.
The hotel is amazingly located centrally to Fort Lauderdale Beach. It is an absolutely beautiful area and gorgeous strip. You can see the sunrise from miles away.
