Our property is the only B&B in Broome that overlooks the Bay. It reflects the Asian influence of the early Pearling Era and suggests the family connection with Broome's hey day of the early 1900s. Doug has a wonderful knowledge of Broome's past and present and is happy to share this with guests. The view over the Bay highlights the tidal changes, the colours of sunrise, the cloud movement and the bird life as it changes with the seasons. It has a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, that is so essential when on holiday, and the sound of the waterfall over the pond completes this
We are very enthusiastic about the preservation of Broome's historic features whilst being keen on it's progress, believing that the two can exist together if approached properly. Doug does a Chinatown Walking Tour and enjoys the interaction with his clients. We find the high tides exciting and still get taken in by The Staircase to the moon. Broome has given us a chance to interact with 2 of our grandchildren and this has been delightful watching them grow and develop from babies to people. We like to travel but get very little time for this. The wilderness is magic for us and, despite it's isolation and desert characteristic, we love calling Broome home. Such a contrast from the beautiful forests and mountains along the East Coast but this is where we have chosen to live!
