The place feels extremely traditional, and the staff was very welcoming, introducing us to the traditions. If possible EAT DINNER there, it is a unique experience for tourists, and the staff makes sure it is great. The place is extremely clean, and beds are relatively comfortable. If you plan to visit the open air museum there is no better location.

It is just a few minute walk to the bus station and train station. It was exceptionally clean, comfortable. The staff were beyond helpful giving us tip as to what to do considering our short amount of time. There are some restaurant next door and nearby. It is within walking distance to the Open air museum. the dinner is a must for a great price and a great social time with other guest. Brian our bartender was awesome. We stayed in a bedroom not the dorms and I must say they were perfect for our purpose. If I come back I will be staying here again!

In the middle of the guest house is a meeting area with a cooking hearth in the floor as well as a bar where you can buy drinks (or BYOB) and other areas to hang out. They do dinner there every night over the fire and it's a good chance to go and meet up with the other guests and talk to people from Japan and all over the world who are staying there. The staff is incredibly friendly, and overall the place has a nice atmosphere. Free ear plugs in the dorm room. Good location since you're right by the train stations, the ropeway for going over the mountain to lake Ashi, and the outdoor sculpture museum.

Had a wonderful time here. I booked a twin room and it was perfect. The dinner was a nice touch and it was a good opportunity to get to know fellow travellers. Both the room and common areas are very clean. Wifi also worked very well. I arrived in the evening and was glad that the place is very easy to find as the streets were quite dark by then.

I liked the idea of dorm room being private. The bed was too comfortable, did not feel like leaving bed in the morning (lmao) And staff is so kind and friendly!

Very nice simple traditional(ish) guesthouse with possibility to parttake in shared dinner, food prepared over coal fire. Rooms are simple but confortable and the shared bathrooms and showers were easily accessible and clean. In addition there are also shared sinks for handwashing/ tooth brushing. The guest house is near rail stop and right next to Hakone open air museum. If visiting the area, there s no need to scale up from this cozy establishment
