It’s the best deal you’ll find anywhere. Very basic and rustic but Comfortable and clean and does the job. Excellent wifi connection despite being in the middle of nowhere. A great hopping off point for day trips to lakes. Amazing star gazing at night!

This 30,000 acre Merino station is located alongside the Ahuriri River, 15 minutes’ drive from Omarama town center. Dunstan Downs High Country Sheep Station is a 30-minute drive from Twizel and a 1-hour drive from Wanaka. Queenstown Airport is within a 2-hour drive. The self contained dormitory rooms are located at the front of the property and feature 6 rooms with shared facilities. There is also a separate cabin located near the river which offers solar powered lights, a composting toilet and an outside bath tub heated by gas. There are several cafes and restaurants in Omarama for you to enjoy dinner. Mountain bike enthusiasts are sure to love the various off-road tracks running through the property.
