The breakfast was good and each day it was slightly different. There was a wine hour late in the afternoon with a good wine selection and accompanying snacks.

A beautiful property in a great location. Breakfast was a lovely selection of small plates, with delicious sweet and savoury home-made choices. We stayed in The Loft room which was perfect for January, very cosy with a remote-controlled gas fire and an amazing bathroom. If I stay again in the spring/summer months I would probably choose a room at the front of the house with a view out to the bay. We had a delightful 2-night stay and would highly recommend.

The location is great. As the name of the property suggests, you are very close to the Cliffside Pathway which fronts the Atlantic Ocean and backs on to many of the grand mansions in Newport. The hotel is a beautiful building and it sets the scene for the “Gilded Age” charm of Newport. The rooms are decorated with a very stylish eclectic modern and period style. It was much to our liking. We loved the gourmet breakfasts, complimentary wine and nibbles in the early evening and the complimentary snacks available in the entry hall. We met some lovely guests at breakfast and in the evening. Our room was big enough and the bathroom was too.

The property is lovely and the guest lounges were a lovely place to relax and chat to other guests. The complimentary wine and snacks were a thoughtful touch. Our room was quirkly decorated and the bathroom was great. The location by the cliff walk is superb. The outside tables were great to relax too.

We stayed in the Governor’s Suite and I have one word of warning - do not indulge in that bathtub unless you are prepared to be passed out for the night! It was so incredibly relaxing and a great intro to a good night’s sleep. The entire room was so comfortable and beautiful. We had a low key stay in Newport for the weekend and this was the perfect compliment. Breakfast was superb and casual and everyone was ready to answer questions and tend to needs as they arose. I would definitely stay here again.
