Golden is a nice location actually. I generally stay in Radium but do feel that a few days in the Golden region would be nice -- lots of attractions to keep one busy thats for sure. They also have an amazing Mexican food restaurant.

A good location to stop if travelling across the mountains.
A good location to stop if travelling across the mountains. Close to several ski and mountain activies, with a wide range of wildlife in the area. The town itself has several amenities ranging from restaurants to supermakets (though if you go into the shop Save on Foods, make sure you get the code from the tubs with loose food before heading up to the checkout), with the river running alongside it. Petrol station, though doesn't sell diesel.

The Northern Lights Wolf centre and the Buffalo ranch were the two highlights of the tour, really amazing to experience these creatures so close but with great conservation efforts being made by both organizations.
The town of Golden was small but cute, probably a great spot for the ski season.

We booked this hotel/lodge because we were coming from Jasper and the following day, we are headed to Banff. Its quite secluded and there is no food to buy around the area. But the room has all the amenities needed. Very nice bathroom, dining room, and bedroom. The view from our room is mountain. There's a free parking at the basement, just inform the front desk. We were able to visit Emerald Lake and Natural bridge from this hotel and an hr away from Lake Louise Summer Gondola... This place is very good place for skiing

We didn’t spend much time in the city because our B a and B away so comfortable I didn’t want to leave except to go to Yoho National Park which is not far away and we’ll worth seeing.
Golden is a small town but has many eateries and coffee shops. Eleven 22 Restaurant is superb
There’s a beautiful trail around the whole town
We were happy with everything we did

The town of Golden is a beautiful place to visit.
The town of Golden is a beautiful place to visit. Nice stop on your travels from Alberta to B.C. destinations. Would recommend staying in one of the many CHAIN HOTELS. Also book your accommodations early, as hotels do book up quickly in this area.
Contrary to some of the reviews, our room was very nice for the price. It appeared to have been renovated within a year or two. Room was a mini-suite, with main room with King bed, and a smaller room with queen bed, and a small kitchen (stocked w dishes, silverware, toaster, coffee, etc.). Overall very clean, comfy beds, check-in was easy. While the hotel was not cheap, it was the least expensive in an extremely expensive area. Poor internet strength was the only negative.
If you are thinking of booking a room in a hotel in Golden book here instead. We had full use of the hot tub and the entire walk out basement is separate from the rest of the house. There are lots of dvds to watch and plenty of space for our little one to run around. They also had a nice play pen for us to use as a crib. I just found the beds to be a bit soft but that is just a preference. We will check here first for our next Golden visit!
Facilities like kitchen, oven, washer, dryer were very helpful for our stay! Quaint little place, slightly out of golden. Hosts were very responsive and they kept checking through message if we were okay. Met the host and had a great chat with him too!! Would suggest finding this place in daylight as you might miss the turn during night. But follow their instructions and it would make sense! :)
The hotel had a very good position, you're close to the highway and you have a nice view over the mountains. The room was a casual one and it was clean. The breakfast was on the weaker side, but that may be a personal view since I am used to european breakfasts. All in all it was a good desicion to stay there.
Usually I stay at hotels, but while looking for accommodations in Golden, I came across Tschurschenthaler Lodge. The lodge is beautiful, we watched the sunset from our balcony. Brandy is a lovely host. It was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed. I highly recommend.
The motel is easily reachable from the highway and close to downtown Golden, about a five minute drive. The room had everything we needed and it was clean. Staff at checkin were friendly and there was free parking close to the room. Price was cheap so value for money is okay.
Golden is an older town and the property showed its age. The rooms had air conditioning and were comfortable but the property does need some work. The breakfast was nice and had lots of option which was great. The pool was fabulous with a waterslide and a hot tub.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years as a one night stop over on our way home. We have always had a newer room and they have been great. We enjoy that there is an outdoor pool. The newer rooms are clean and up to date.
Set in a beautiful location with a fantastic view the Lodge was a great choice for our stay in Golden. A clean and comfortable room made for an enjoyable stay only surpassed by Brandy's hospitality and breakfasts?
Overpriced, but so is every hotel in Golden in the summer. It was what we expected, if you want the Fairmont it's not, but it's a good little roadside hotel. Probably better than most
I often stop in Golden to overnight. Basically, I am looking for a good price and a comfortable bed. Mary's Motel meets both of these criteria. Also, there are restaurants nearby.
This is the hotel we use when we are in Golden. Never disappoints. The attached restaurant is handy for early morning departures and food is good and well presented.
